Add-on card compatibility |
Summary
| The miniPCI express sockets on our apu series boards can be used for expansion.
If in doubt, please ask.
|
mSATA SSD
| Usually no problem. Please keep in mind that they will only work in the mSATA
socket, not the miniPCI express sockets !
|
miniPCIe SATA
| In our experience, cards based on the Asmedia ASM106x chipset will NOT work.
|
miniPCIe Ethernet
| One half-size card we tested based on Realtek RTL8111 did not work.
|
miniPCIe modem
| Please do NOT take compatibility for granted. Modem modules often have creative
pinouts, and can cause grievous EMI fails when they do silly things like connect
the 100 MHz PCI clock to a 1.8V rail. Dedicated modem sockets like on apu3 or apu4
series boards are more likely to work, for apu2 you should verify the modem pinout
against our schematic.
|
apu1d
| Does not supply 1.5V power to the miniPCI express
sockets. Some specialized cards require this.
|
apu2c
| We have run into some cards that don't drive the CLKREQ# signal, and thus
will not get clock. We can provide an alternate BIOS on request.
