At PC Engines, we don't have time for spam. Sending or receiving. |
Spam
Internet email protocols are wide open - it is very easy to send emails
under somebody else's name, preferably from a hijacked PC. Some of those
will use a bogus user name combined with the pcengines.ch domain name. |
Tracing spam
Take a look at the email headers. This will give you the origin IP address.
Use traceroute / tracert at the Windows command line to follow the trail
to this IP address. Most likely this will be bogus. If it did come from
within Switzerland, please forward the email message to us, and we will
take it up with local providers to get the spammer or compromised PC shut
down. |
What you can do
First, use an email provider with decent spam filtering. If all else fails,
use a Yahoo email account, few spams seem to penetrate their filters.
Second, never, ever, buy anything promoted by spam. |
